Not so Scary Stories

With

Learnin’ Vernon

Sandy Pond Campground

Plymouth, MA

Registered campers will meet Learnin’ Vernon around the campfire for some “Not so Scary Stories“.

This program was created to provide parents and camp councilors a break from the traditional Ghost tales that left Children scared for days. These fun and harmless tales allow the children to still be a part of the classic campfire culture without the fear. Original and folk ghost tales are shared with a discussion on fear resolution for 5-10 year olds and their caregivers. 45 minutes

A teen and adult “Share a Scare” version may follow if there is enough interest.

Remember these shows are for registered campers only so call now for your campsite!

The Featured Performing Storyteller for October 8th is:

Michael Anderson

Michael Anderson is a First Amendment lawyer.

After he takes off his tie, he talks to audiences in ways they don’t allow in federal court. He started in the San Francisco spoken word scene in 1990.

In 1999, he moved to Boston, where he brought his manic, political style to storytelling.
He was featured in the Exchange Place program at the National Storytelling Festival, the Three Apples Festival, the Sharing the Fire conference and the American Story Theater. He has performed multimedia shows Free-Style Shakespeare and Soccer Nightmares, Soccer Dreams in Boston.

Next to his wife and son, he loves the essays of George Orwell, the Queen’s Gambit attack in chess, and the first two Clash albums.

He thinks: there’s no such thing as free speech if you don’t use it.

Donations of $5.00 or more are appreciated for the Feature Performance.

All of our members are Enthusiastic about Storytelling and the general public is welcome to attend.
