Seanachie Nights
Bull Feeney's Irish Pub/Restaurant
Admission FREE; $9.00 suggested donation.
The Monday, February 18 show will feature an evening
of traditional stories and songs from the
Celtic/British tradition, performed by the colorful
and talented members of M.O.O.S.E.!
MOOSE was created in 1999 when a group of seven
storytellers met on a member’s porch in Cape Elizabeth
to discuss the need for building a storytelling
community in the Portland area.
A number of ideas were generated and MOOSE
started with a weekly storytelling swap at Java Joes that later turned into a monthly open mic at the Company of Girls Space with
a featured performer.
MOOSE now meets on the second
Wednesday of each month for a story swap and feature
at Portlands North Star Cafe. We currently have just
over 60 members on the MOOSE e-list who receive news
of storytelling events statewide.
Seanachie Nights is the idea of local
(seanachie) storyteller and
playwright Lynne Cullen. Lynne is a member of
LANES
(League for the Advancement of New England
Storytelling-www.lanes.org), and MOOSE
(The Maine Organization of Storytelling Enthusiasts.)
